Practitioner Disclaimer & User Safety

Last updated: 6 September 2026

  1. Purpose of This Disclaimer

MutiSquare is an online platform and directory that helps members of the public discover and connect with independent traditional healers and other practitioners offering traditional, cultural, spiritual and related services.

This disclaimer explains the role of MutiSquare and provides important safety information for users when selecting and dealing with practitioners.

  1. MutiSquare Is a Directory Platform

MutiSquare provides a platform through which independent practitioners can advertise and provide information about their services.

MutiSquare does not itself provide traditional-healing, spiritual, medical or other practitioner services advertised through practitioner listings.

Practitioners listed on MutiSquare operate independently and are not employees, agents or representatives of MutiSquare merely because they are listed on the platform.

  1. No Guarantee of Practitioner Services

MutiSquare does not guarantee:

  • that a practitioner’s services will achieve a particular result;
  • that a treatment, consultation or spiritual service will be successful;
  • that statements or predictions made by a practitioner will occur;
  • that every statement appearing in a practitioner profile is correct at all times; or
  • the future behaviour or conduct of a practitioner.

Users should exercise reasonable judgment when selecting and engaging a practitioner.

  1. Meaning of “Verified”

Where MutiSquare displays a “Verified” status, this means that MutiSquare has checked specified identity, contact and/or supporting information submitted by the practitioner according to the verification process used by MutiSquare at that time.

Verification does not mean that MutiSquare has certified the practitioner’s healing abilities.

It also does not guarantee the effectiveness, safety or outcome of any service offered by that practitioner.

  1. Health and Medical Safety

Information provided through MutiSquare or by practitioners listed on the platform should not automatically be treated as a replacement for appropriate professional medical care.

Users should seek assistance from an appropriately qualified healthcare professional where medical diagnosis, treatment or emergency care is required.

Users should not discontinue prescribed medication or medical treatment solely because of information obtained through MutiSquare or from a practitioner without first obtaining appropriate medical advice.

In a medical emergency or potentially life-threatening situation, users should contact appropriate emergency or healthcare services.

  1. Payments to Practitioners

Customers pay practitioners directly for consultations and practitioner services.

MutiSquare does not currently receive, hold or process consultation payments between customers and practitioners.

Before making payment, users should confirm:

  • the practitioner’s consultation fee;
  • what service will be provided;
  • whether a deposit is required;
  • the practitioner’s cancellation conditions;
  • whether any refund conditions apply; and
  • the payment details supplied by the practitioner.

Users should be cautious where they are pressured to make urgent, repeated or unusually large payments.

  1. Financial Safety

Users should exercise caution before transferring money to any practitioner.

MutiSquare encourages users to keep records or proof of payments made directly to practitioners.

Users should never provide banking passwords, PIN numbers, one-time passwords (OTPs) or other confidential banking credentials to a practitioner.

Suspicious requests for money may be reported to MutiSquare.

  1. Personal Safety

Where an in-person consultation is arranged, users should take reasonable precautions for their personal safety.

Users may consider:

  • informing a trusted person where they are going;
  • meeting in an appropriate and reasonably safe location;
  • keeping their mobile phone available where appropriate;
  • avoiding situations in which they feel threatened or unsafe; and
  • leaving and seeking assistance if they feel they are in danger.

MutiSquare cannot supervise private consultations between users and practitioners.

  1. Protecting Personal Information

Users should carefully consider what personal information they provide directly to a practitioner.

Users should not provide passwords, PINs, banking login information or other unnecessary confidential information.

Once a user communicates directly with a practitioner outside MutiSquare, the practitioner is independently responsible for how information received directly from the user is handled, subject to applicable law.

  1. Prohibited and Misleading Conduct

Practitioners must not use MutiSquare to engage in fraudulent, threatening, exploitative, abusive or unlawful conduct.

Practitioners should not intentionally make false or misleading representations regarding their identity, services, qualifications, registrations or experience.

MutiSquare may investigate reports and may suspend or remove listings that violate its policies.

  1. No Guaranteed Healing or Outcome

Traditional and spiritual practices may involve personal beliefs, traditions and cultural practices, and experiences may differ from person to person.

No practitioner may use their MutiSquare listing to guarantee a particular healing, financial, relationship, employment, legal, spiritual or other outcome where such a guarantee would be misleading or unlawful.

MutiSquare does not guarantee any outcome arising from the use of a practitioner’s services.

  1. Reviews and Ratings

Reviews and ratings, where available, represent the experiences or opinions of individual users.

A positive rating or review does not constitute a guarantee that another user will have the same experience.

MutiSquare may moderate reviews that appear fraudulent, abusive, unlawful or contrary to its policies.

  1. Reporting a Practitioner

Users are encouraged to report serious concerns about a practitioner, including suspected:

  • fraud or scams;
  • impersonation;
  • deliberately false information;
  • threats or harassment;
  • dangerous conduct;
  • requests for confidential banking credentials;
  • exploitation;
  • unlawful services; or
  • other serious violations of MutiSquare policies.

Reports may be submitted through the MutiSquare Contact page.

MutiSquare may request additional information to assess a report.

  1. Action by MutiSquare

Where appropriate, MutiSquare may investigate a reported listing or account.

Depending on the circumstances, MutiSquare may:

  • request clarification or supporting information;
  • issue a warning;
  • remove particular content;
  • remove Verified status;
  • temporarily suspend a listing;
  • permanently remove a listing or account; or
  • take other reasonable action necessary to protect the platform and its users.

Where appropriate or legally required, serious matters may also need to be reported to relevant authorities.

  1. Private Disputes

MutiSquare may receive complaints regarding practitioners but is not automatically responsible for resolving private contractual, financial or personal disputes between practitioners and their customers.

Where a dispute concerns money paid directly to a practitioner, users should first raise the matter with that practitioner where it is safe and appropriate to do so.

Nothing in this policy prevents a person from exercising rights available to them under South African law.

  1. Limitation of MutiSquare’s Role

MutiSquare provides the platform that connects users with independent practitioners.

To the extent permitted by law, MutiSquare is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, representations, advice or services of practitioners.

Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude any responsibility or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

  1. South African Law

Use of MutiSquare and this disclaimer are subject to applicable laws of the Republic of South Africa.

  1. Contact MutiSquare

Questions, safety concerns or reports regarding a practitioner may be submitted through the Contact page on the MutiSquare website.
